Finding a room of our own.
Let’s meet at 11am at Newnham College, Cambridge, where in 1928 Virginia Woolf delivered her groundbreaking lecture ‘A Room of One’s Own’.
We will meet for coffee in Newnham College cafe before taking a walk in the gardens with readings from the lecture.
We will also find inspiration in the beautiful gardens for the lino print designs we will be making later in the day.
After our walk we will retire the Millicent Garratt Fawcett room. Shashi will guide you through a creative writing exercise where will explore what your perfect space would feel like.
Then we will enjoy a light lunch together - all dietary requirements can be catered for, just let us know when you book.
The day will continue with a lino print workshop run by Robyn and inspired by Vanessa Bell’s work created to illustrate her sister - Virginia Woolf’s - writing.
Inspired by our stunning surroundings we will create an image that will represent for your a room of your own, and be a beautiful reminder of you day at Newnham.
